Pinzon's easy-to-use wine opener effortlessly extracts a cork from any wine bottle in three seconds with simple lever action. Comfortable handles easily clamp onto a bottle's neck; the steel lever drives the tough, Teflon-coated worm into the cork with a push and then pulls the cork out cleanly with a simple pull. Releasing the cork involves the same action, only with the handles clamped onto the cork. The eye-catching opener is ruggedly constructed of red transparent plastic with a heavy-duty steel gear mechanism, and opens one-thousand bottles in its lifetime. It comes with a squeeze-and-twist foil cutter to strip away the foil covering a cork, and a replacement worm. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the beauty of the wine opener.

 "Junk" 2009-09-27
By Scott Brinckerhoff (Haddam, CT USA)
Purchased in February, this wine opener was dead by September. First, one of its components fell off, and was impossible to put back on. It still worked, and when it was working it was a great product. But then, in normal use, one of its "arms" broke off, and that was that. It's inexpensive and a good design, but I'd say the materials fall short. Also, the manufacturer is impossible to contact -- there's no website.

i have been throughly satisfied with the corkscrew do highly recommend it to anyone who want to be able to open wine effortlessy.

 "Pretty Good" 2009-08-21
By W. Kistler (United States)
It took a while to get shipped. The packaging was utilitarian. HOWEVER, having opened my first bottle with this opener last evening, it was perfect. The easiest opening I have ever had and I've opened thousands.

 "Not strong enough" 2009-08-08
By E. Haydock
I liked this a lot, infortuantely, one day the nhandle just broke in two.

Perhaps they should put a metal rod, or similar reinforcement, inside the plastic handle.

Surprised others haven't had the same experience.

 "I recommend it" 2007-01-27
By Consequences Schmonsequences (The Isles of Langerhans)
We keep most of our wine in the basement. I bought this to display a few bottles in the kitchen and have them accessible. I was a bit disappointed that the gray uprights on the side are plastic. Nevertheless, it's attractive and classy; much nicer than most of the similarly priced racks.

 "Not Bad...." 2007-02-20
By Marilyn (Boston, MA)
I bought this over a year ago, and it just broke - it does feel a bit cheap, but it wasn't the plasticy parts that broke - it was the mechanism on top. I could replace this, but it would cost $40 to get the new part, so I'm buying a different brand this time. Not a bad unit - I enjoyed it thoroughly for the last year, but be gentle!

"DO NOT BUY - Flimsy materials and horrible design." 2006-12-14
By S. Dorsey (San Francisco Bay Area)
This product cost $50, and felt like something I'd purchase at a 99cent store. The handle flexes when you hold it, and the corkscrew is cheap and flimsy. I bought this as a gift, and I'm glad I opened it to inspect for shipping damage, because I saw the quality and immediately returned the item at my own shipping cost. I would never give such shoddy product as a gift.

 "Its OK" 2006-05-04
By A. Katrompas (CONCORD, OH USA)
I've been using this opener for 5 months, its opened every bottle quickly and easily (a lot of bottles), no pushed down corks, no broken corks, and its still in one piece. Overall though its obvioulsy cheaply constructed and doesn't look as good as I would have hoped (it looks as cheap as it feels). Right out of the box I recognized it for weak construction so I've just been carful with it, and its worked just fine.

"BonJour Chateau Deluxe Tabletop Wine Opener, Black" 2006-03-11
By Frank M. Tubolino
I experienced the same problem as reviewer number 2. Rather than pulling the cork, it pushes the cork into the (expensive) wine, splashing the wine on table, chairs, and clothing. I am not happy. Tried to return item, no record!

 "cheaply constructed" 2006-01-12
By G. Smith (Seattle, WA)
They built the main support beam and fastening joint with cheap plastic. Broke literally the first time I used it. Am sending it back.

 "piece of junk" 2009-10-19
By Laura N. Trivett (Wilmington, NC United States)
I bought this as it was highly rated by Cook's Illustrated. It's a piece of junk, didn't even last 9 months. The lever snapped right in half. Wine Enthusiast wouldn't replace it, won't buy from them again. Save your money and get something else from someone else.
